April 2010: Wincanton Records Management expands for future growth

Wincanton Records Management (WRM), a leading provider of data management solutions, is bucking downward industry trends with a major multi-million pound investment programme at its Rainham site in Essex for its clients in London and surrounding counties.

To meet increased customer demand, WRM is expanding its state-of-the-art records centre at Rainham to near twice its current capacity – from 1.8 million cubic feet to 3.3 million cubic feet, extending its capacity by 1.5 million cubic feet.

Jon Fowler, WRM’s managing director, says: “When the Rainham records centre was opened in 2005, we already had future expansion in mind. Our initial assessment was that extra space would be needed by 2013. However, our fresh approach to records management, which is based around flexible, tailor-made high security solutions that enable customers to save money, has been embraced by the industry and customers alike, prompting us to bring forward our expansion plans at Rainham.

“The expanded complex is part of our growing national roll-out of state-of-the-art records management centres – giving both national and local clients a real alternative to traditional records management facilities.”
