Delivering sustainable records management solutions

Wincanton Records Management has a firm commitment to achieving success in a sustainable and environmentally responsible manner. As such, we are constantly seeking ways to improve our environmental records management performance, and to reduce our carbon impact across every area of our business.

We have invested heavily in both time and money to deliver solutions that enhance our customers’ experience in relation to both our service delivery and the environment. We are continually seeking ways to adapt processes and procedures to be more environmentally friendly while at the same time embracing technology innovations which facilitate this goal.

Current environmental records management initiatives include:

Route-planning software

We have invested in sophisticated route-planning software which enables us to significantly reduce the road miles covered by our delivery fleet, thereby minimising emissions.

Sensor lighting

When building our records centres we install the latest in sensor lighting systems allowing the lighting to be available when required, yet minimising electricity usage when not needed.

Storage boxes

We have implemented a new records storage box which is 100% recyclable and of a higher quality, thus increasing life span and reducing the need for continual replacement.

Recycling

We currently recycle a number of waste products across our business including confidential papers, cardboard packaging, pallet wrap, electrical appliances, pallet timber and toner cartridges.

Energy efficient buildings

Our sites are designed for maximum energy efficiency and include highly insulated dock doors, intelligent lighting, minimised air leakage, reusable steel frame racking and low flush WCs.

Bio diversity

To reduce ecological impact to new site build areas, we create new habitats for local wildlife and rain water collection which is routed back to local river sources.

Transport

Our transport fleet is entirely Euro 3 compliant.
